We last met the SASA: Sapienza Rocket Team in Roccaraso, during the launch campaign ahead of their journey to Texas. Today, we are delighted to celebrate the conclusion of an extraordinary international experience and an important achievement.
As a sponsor, Gruppo Esea is proud to celebrate the teamโs ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ at the International Rocket Engineering Competition, achieved through an active matter experiment conceived, developed and flown aboard the ๐ ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐๐ฎ rocket.
The competition brought together more than 140 teams from around the world in the challenging conditions of the Chihuahua Desert, with temperatures above 40ยฐC, strong winds and sandstorms.
During the launch, an engine anomaly limited the rocketโs performance and apogee. Nevertheless, ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐น๐: the onboard computer successfully managed the airbrakes and recovery systems, ensuring parachute deployment and the safe recovery of the rocket.
It is in the most difficult moments that the strength of the engineering, technical preparation and resilience of a team truly emerge.
We are proud to have supported these young engineers throughout a journey built on research, experimentation and teamworkโand to see them represent Italy on an international stage.
